1859 Advisors

1859 Advisors serves as Energy Advisors to M-III Partners, LLC, a New York based restructuring and capital advisory firm.  


While most current clients/projects are confidential, 1859 Advisors has done technical consulting work for Voyager Oil & Gas (North Dakota), Harvest Natural Resources (Colombia), Noram Resources (Texas and Louisiana), Cortez Resources (Louisiana), and Caza Oil & Gas (South Texas).  Private Equity and Investor clients include Riverstone Holdings, KKR, Hamlin Capital, Macoma Capital, and Britton Hill Holdings.  

Jesse B. Kimball, Principal

Jesse is an Exploration Geologist with a strong technical background in petroleum geosciences with a commercial analysis focus on new play identification and assessment, restructuring and M&A, and capital advisory services.  His primary areas of expertise are onshore North America, especially the petroleum provinces in Oklahoma, Texas, North Dakota, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Alaska.   


Before founding 1859 Advisors, LLC in 2010, Jesse founded Windswept Royalties, LLC in 2009, a mineral and royalty acquisition company, as well as Nor'easter Energy, LP in 2008, a non-operated working interest company, mostly focused in Oklahoma.


Previously, Jesse worked as a Petroleum Geologist and Economic Modeler for Swift Energy and as a Geologist for BP Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, both in Houston, Texas.  Jesse holds an MBA from the Acton School of Business and a Master's in Petroleum Geology from the Jackson School at the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.A. in Environmental Geology with a concentration in Environmental Economics from Washington and Lee University, in Lexington, VA.
